Ghana and Africa as a whole is receiving massive endorsement from Hollywood celebrities, who are constantly encouraging their fans to make a once-in-a-lifetime trip to the cradle of civilization.

The latest celebrity to join the visit to Ghana and Africa campaign is American comedian, actor, and TV personality, Steve Harvey who, himself visited Ghana during the highly successful ‘Year of Return’ in 2019 with his wife.

In a viral video posted on the internet, Mr Harvey can be heard telling his audience to leave everything and visit destinations like Ghana, Botswana and Johannesburg; a move he believes will change their perception of African people completely.

“Leave everything you’ve ever heard. After you go to Africa, you got to go to Ghana first, and then you need to go to Botswana because you need to see what we…” he said

The host of Family Feud also waded into the controversy and claims that African artistes like Burna Boy were copying American music styles.

“Them talking about Burna Boy stole this from us. No we stole from them. Them Africans is us mhen; they are the beat; they are the rhythm; they are the soul. They are hard work; we get our courage from them. When you see them, people, they look just like your family,” he announced to a thunderous applause from the audience.

Dubbed the Mecca of Africa, Ghana has become a haven for African Americans tracing their roots from the Atlantic Slave Trade.

African Americans leaders and celebrities including Boris Cudjoe, Barack and Michelle Obama, Steve and Marjorie Harvey, Gabrielle Union, Vic Mensa, SZA and Kendrick Lamar have paid solemn visits to the country in the past and explored monumental sites such as the Cape Coast Castle
