It is an undeniable fact the Ghana Movie Industry specifically Kumawood which over a decade ago was a force to reckon with on the continent has become a shadow of itself. Movie producers, actors and other stakeholders in the industry are working assiduously to redeem the glory the industry once had. As part of revamping the industry with quality and thought-provoking movies comes Kubolor, a movie produced by Miracle Films Production.
The highly anticipated movie, Kubolor(truant student) has been launched today, May 11 at the Rexmar Hotel in Kumasi and Kumasionlinegh.com was there to cover the event as usual.
The cast of the movie Emelia Brobbey, Kalybos, Bill Asamoah, just to mention a few turned up in their numbers to grace the colourful event. Speaking to the media, the C.E.O of Miracle Films, Evangelist Samuel Nyamekye requested the people of Kumasi and Ghana as a whole to support the movie industry. According to him, the budget for the movie amounts to GHs 90,000 and it is undoubtedly one of the most expensive movies shot in Ghana.
With this budget, a movie lover expects a movie with better video quality, interesting storyline etc. and that’s what the CEO is guaranteeing.The Evangelist didn’t forgo heaping much praise on Zylofon Media, most especially the CEO, Nana Appiah Mensah for immense support for the Creative Arts Industry through his initiative, Zylofon Fund.
Stressing on the drone shots et al, the movie would be shot in a couple of regions in Ghana in a period of 8 days, according to Evangelist Nyamekye. For non-twi speakers, you have not been left out, the movie comes with an English subtitle. Kobolor is a movie about a prestigious lady disregarding and maltreating her illiterate husband because of his educational background and social status. The cast promised movie lovers to anticipate nothing less than excellence from them in the upcoming movie.
