Police in the Eastern Region have begun investigations into circumstances under which a five-year-old boy allegedly drowned in a well at Ogome, a suburb of Somanya in the Eastern Region.

The incident was allegedly orchestrated by the mother of the boy.

The suspect, 23-year-old Rita Dede, according to sources, told her neighbours how she drowned her son before reporting to the police that he had gone missing.

CHer neighbours who were shocked after her revelation arrested her and took her to the police station.

Speaking to Citi News, the Eastern Regional Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Ebenezer Tetteh said the command is looking into the matter and will soon arraign the suspect.
